Jack Murtha, a senior representative of Pennsylvania, died on the last February 8, 2010. He died due to a complication after a gallbladder surgery. He was 77 year-old and last month, Office of Congressional Ethics cleared his name from the accusation related to his acceptance for a campaign contribution from PMA Group.

Jack Murtha was known as a strong and conservative person. He was pro-gun and pro-war since he was a former of American hero in Vietnam War in 1966-1967. He was then left the military and started his career as a member of Congress in 1969. He was the first veteran from Vietnam War at that time. He was also one of the Congress members who supported former President Bush’s decision in sending troops to Iraq in the last 2002. But then, 3 years after that, he became one of the people who insisted the former President to withdraw the troops from the battlefield.

Jack Murtha was the only Congress member who had never taken away his hand from the defense budget and its allocation. He was always became the man in charge no matter who the leader was. As the result, he always became the object of criticism from the public. But, he never paid too much attention to the critic because he believed all the things he did was right and the best for his district.
